The ACPL-P346-500E optocoupler gate driver is a high-performance device with a powerful 2.5A maximum peak output current and a versatile 2.0A minimum peak output current. Its rail-to-rail output voltage capability ensures precise voltage transfer, complemented by fast response times with a maximum propagation delay of 120 ns and a maximum propagation delay difference of 50 ns. The inclusion of an LED current input with hysteresis enhances stability, while the minimum common-mode rejection of 100 kV/μs at VCM = 1500V ensures excellent noise immunity. The device operates with low power consumption (ICC = 4.0 mA), integrates undervoltage lockout protection with hysteresis, and offers a wide operating voltage range of 10V to 20V. Designed for industrial applications, it operates reliably over a temperature range of –40°C to +105°C and has safety certifications including UL listed status at 3750V/5000 VRMS for 1 minute, CSA compliance compliance and compliance with IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-5 standards, VIORM rating is 891V/1140 Vpeak. Description:

 

The Broadcom® ACPL-P346/W346 contains an AlGaAs LED, which is optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a power output stage. This optocoupler is ideally suited for driving power, GaN (Gallium Nitride) and SiC(Silicon Carbide) MOSFETs used in inverter or AC-DC/DC-DC converter applications. The high operating voltage range of the output stage provides the drive voltages required by gate controlled devices. The voltage and high peak output current supplied by this optocoupler make it ideally suited for direct driving MOSFETs at high frequency for high efficiency conversion. The ACPL-P346 and ACPL-W346 have the highest insulation voltage of VIORM = 891 Vpeak and VIORM = 1140Vpeak respectively in the IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-5.
