The ACPL-31JT-500E optocoupler gate driver operates over a wide temperature range (-40°C to +125°C) and features a Miller current clamp, low-impedance direct LED input, and negative gate bias. It features 2.5A peak output current, 1.9A Miller clamp sink current, and a wide operating voltage range (12V to 20V), providing flexibility and power for a variety of automotive systems. The device ensures precise switching with a maximum propagation delay of 250 ns and minimizes dead-time distortion (-100 ns to +15 ns). Integrated fail-safe MOSFET protection, desaturation sensing, shutdown protection, fault feedback and undervoltage lockout protection enhance overall reliability. ACPL-31JT-500E is packaged in SO-16 with an electrical clearance and creepage distance of 8 mm. It is approved by regulatory agencies such as UL1577 and CSA and complies with EC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-5 standards, setting new standards. . Description:
The Broadcom® automotive 2.5-amp gate drive optocoupler features fast propagation delay with excellent timing skew performance. Smart features that are integrated to protect the MOSFET include desaturation sensing with shutdown protection and fault feedback, under voltage lockout and feedback, and active Miller current clamping. This full-featured and easy-to-implement gate drive optocoupler comes in a compact, surface-mountable SO-16 package for space-savings. It is ideally designed for driving power MOSFETs used in AC-DC and DC-DC converters and satisfies automotive AEC-Q100 semiconductor requirements.
